Embraced in rich atmospheres and ocean spray, Tides is Arovane’s second album. Originally released on City Centre Offices in 2000, its blissful electronica remains timeless in this 2022 remastered edition. Harpsichord keys scatter across the album like grains of sand, their melodies at times sounding like glimpses of mediaeval golden treasures, or wooden floorboards creaking under the footsteps of explorers. Drums rolling like crashing waves are interlaced with field recordings of a vacation to France that inspired the album, along with silk woven guitar plucks and panoramic synth textures.
