Following 2020’s Phyton, Berlin based producer and vocalist Yosa Peit returns with an album full of contrasts, in which guttural distortion is smithed into slow moving, ambient leaning experimental pop songs. Gut Buster sonifies “the destructive force of modern consumption”, stitched with reversed and contorted sounds, right-angled manipulated strums, and pitch shifted vocals sitting somewhere in between soul and punk. Through a series of vignettes and avant garde explorations, dark brooding trap beats rub against shiny bejewelled guitars on ‘TOWER FLOWER’, while crashing colliding techno drums race through an abstract stormcloud on ‘PEPPER PLANE’.
