Veteran Australian rocker Nick Cave returns with his Bad Seeds group, presenting the 14th studio LP Dig, Lazarus, Dig!! Recorded in only a staggering five days at The Studio Of The Ark in London, Cave shifts the direction of the group into a more garage rock sound, akin to that of his Grinderman offshoot project. The opening title cut ‘Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!’ carries a distinct American swagger, with its raspy vocals and twanging guitars, as does ‘Albert Goes West’ which glows with a youthful vibrancy. Cave takes his foot off the gas on ‘Jesus Of The Moon’, offering a bluesier feel with his trademark impassioned vocals and a surprise, delicate flute solo.
