Recorded in the deathly silence of an empty Alexandra Palace, London, original Bad Seed and songwriting outlaw Nick Cave simultaneously reflects and wards off the isolation felt across the globe during the Covid-19 pandemic. In lieu of the grand, expansive tour we perhaps expected after the release of 2019’s haunting Ghosteen, Idiot Prayer - Love Alone At Alexandra Palace sees Cave taking an extended sombre look at his back-catalogue, delivering striking renditions of 'Galleon Ship’, ‘Higgs Boson Blues’ and ‘Papa Won’t Leave You, Henry’ with no other accompaniment other than his own voice and piano.
