A compilation of their highly limited ‘Borderland’ EPs, this collection from Detroit’s Juan Atkins and Berlin’s Moritz von Oswald shows off just how well they understood each other’s styles. The single analogue pad on ‘Footprints’ echoes like only German techno programming can, while the cool, buzzing beats of ‘Digital Forest’ sound so much like a Motor City warehouse night you can imagine Robocop grooving in the fog. An unlikely but extremely catchy collaboration.
