The elusive Datashader debuts on Tresor Records with dystopian dancefloor sound collages commenting on the parasocial digital age. Digital Entropy pits rugged drum and bass against engine revving acid, delicate rippling melodies torn up by heaving beats and coursing bass slams. ‘Sync Out Off’ builds a tension filled world with laser pulses and bass modulations, machinic murmurs, snapping wires and frozen shards of percussion, brought together by a room filling kick. Ambient phantoms meanwhile sweep through Dopplereffekt’s ‘Gravitational Remodel’ of ‘Breath Controller’, remnants of the original track’s contorted noise reanimated by electro rhythms.
