Here we have a fabulously irreverent mix of African Hi-Life and cheery 1980’s synth bombast from industrial power couple Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti. Exotika is a far cry from the wilful hideousness of their days with Throbbing Gristle, catering instead to a dance-savvy underground sonics in line with post-industrial clubrooms — if not an outright example of their penchant for running circles around the competition.
