For his first album in a decade, Planet Mu affiliate and long time idm/glitch producer Datach’i runs through sixteen new tracks which channel Rephlex style braindance, the more abstract end of the chain reaction catalogue, frenzied breaks and musique concrete. System is an accomplished and (we imagine) well deliberated piece of work that will appeal to fans of Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, The Flashbulb and anyone seeking unconventional electronics (see ‘512521’ and ‘Grabbed with Claws’). There is a strange and futuristic feel here, but at the same time the futurism feels defiantly optimistic.
