Long out of print, much like the rest of his early work, Venetian Snares’ debut vinyl release Greg Hates Car Culture, the third release on Minneapolis label History Of The Future, sees Aaron Funk truly crystallise the sound he’d continue to develop well into the 21st century. Reissued on Timesig for its 20th birthday, this anniversary edition is a startling reminder of just how future-facing Funk’s breakbeat vision was prior to the turn of the century. The LP is as belligerent as a brick thrown through a china shop window, already half-decimated by a raging bull.
