The third part in their V.I.R.U.S. series of collaborative releases, Revep sees Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto dive further into the glitching soundscapes powered by the combination of piano and electronics. Stuttering notes are held in stasis, torn apart even more than the album’s predecessor as the chirps of skips and glitches form an illusory birdsong. This remastered edition adds three new compositions, including the multi-phased ‘City Radieuse’, exploring stillness and motion through its crackling warmth. The two ‘Veru’ pieces meanwhile rotate endlessly through loops of piercing signals and crystalline piano shards with infinite sustain.
