Jameszoo’s LP of ‘naive computer-jazz’, Fool, found a welcoming home on Brainfeeder when it dropped in May 2016. A year on and the Dutchman brings forth a new EP fronted by Fool standout ‘Flake’. That track maintains all of the brain-bending charm that it did a year ago, and the manner in which the glitching synths dovetail with some gorgeous piano detailing shows why FlyLo saw fit for Jameszoo to share a stable with the likes of Daedelus. Elsewhere on the EP we get remixes of ‘Flake’ from Frans Petter and Niels Broos and three new tracks. Of the new pieces, the Broos-featuring ‘Rolrolrol’ is a highlight, cramming everything from juke to trap to free-jazz into four heady minutes.
