The fifth release on Liminal Sounds is by Melbourne-based DJ and producer Air Max ’97. Not dissimilar to the hyperreal sonic mishmash of the PC Music camp, Fruit Crush is a 3 track excursion of cartoony melodies brought together by a medley of sounds from the past, the present and maybe even the not-too-distant future. The trap rhythm of Shape Cut contrasts well with the slightly more grime-indebted soundscape Armour. All 3 tracks showcase a producer with an ear for bending sounds in to brand new shapes.
