Returning to Altered Sense for his latest full-length LP entitled Fold Fire, Jaffa Kid offers something of a scene setter by opening with the downright cinematic title track with its cascading strings and drumless churn clearing the air for the breaks to come, and there are plenty. Working from a palette of tried and true raved up acid touchstones, tracks like the banging ‘Hardcore Rittim’ and the more introspective ‘Euphoronic’ definitely offer thrills as advertised, but each come with a giddy and infectious energy that could win over even the most discerning of heads.
