A figure at the margins of the 20th century experimental avant garde (by choice and definitely not through lack of vision), Jack Briece only ever released a single LP. But what an LP to have released. Decades later, 1984’s Heterophonious Fool seems practically prophetic in its usage of electronic instrumentation, its faux-naive plonking Casio rhythms recalling the control and poise of Autechre and the playful atmospherics of video game music.
