Originally released in 1995, the drone-mongers at Southern Lord continue their extensive Caspar Brotzmann Massaker reissue series with a seminal work of noisy sludge rock. Fittingly enough, the Berlin group hit their stride with their fifth LP Home, doubling down on the Einsturzunde Neubauten clangour on the spatially aware ‘Tempelhof’ and ‘The Tribe’, and assembling for long-haul dirges all across ‘Massaker’, ‘Hunter Song’ and ‘Böhmen’.
