Chicago composer Kevin Drumm kicks off a new series of LPs on the Streamline label with his latest work entitled OG23. The ever-prolific Drumm is coming off a hot run of releases on revered experimental labels like Sonoris and Moikai, among others. Split into two distinct movements, OG23 is built up from treated electronics and mangled field recordings to achieve its chilling, but also oddly soothing sound. Almost aqueous in nature, the low end hum and cyclical sonics recall a deep dive not unlike its evocative album cover.
