Jasmine Wood’s debut under her own name explores the piano’s strings and the space they resonate in as an intertwined experience. In the spirit of Ellen Fullman’s long string instrument, Piano Reverb extends notes and chords into seemingly endless sustains, evoking the hundreds of years over which the piano has existed. Delicate, docile tones are cut and stitched into heavenly collages, shoegazing string vibrations are distorted into whipping winds, icicle notes traipse and amass over oscillating growls. These vast seas of cresting pianistic waves are met by a choir of clanging bells, fluctuating natural recordings, all bathed in light.
