Largely due to his work with the country’s first TV channel TRT, Gökçen Kaynatan’s synthesiser compositions have left an indelible imprint on Turkey’s musical landscape. Finders Keepers were recently given access to the Gökçen Kaynatan archives, and one of the records to emerge from the vaults is Cehennem (Hell). Containing three previously unreleased compositions - one of which (‘Cehennem Yolu (Road To Hell)’) was taped as Kaynatan recovered from brain surgery - this record is full of dark drones, billowing plumes of noise and alien melodies. It’s eerie and arresting stuff.
