Genres

Back on December 23rd 1984, Psychic TV released a limited-edition record of song ideas and sketches called A Pagan Day. True to their mythological style, 999 copies pressed to picture disc were made available from Rough Trade for just a few hours, and sold out immediately. The band reissued the record on standard vinyl in 1986 through their own label Temple Records, and now Sacred Bones have taken the trouble to give it a much-needed second run. Fans of the band will recognise primitive versions of what would become part of live shows or go on to become iconic tracks, like 'The Orchids' (here under the working title 'Cold Steel'), and maybe even the photo on the cover as P-Orridge's first born, Caresse, who adorned the original picture disc.
