Back in 1988 Psychic TV tuned in, turned on and dropped an album of psych styled pop with Allegory And Self. Featuring contributions from Soft Cell's Dave Ball and Strawberry Switchblade and occasional Coil vocalist Rose McDowall, this remastered reissue of Allergory & Self presents a beautifully packaged edition of a hugely important milestone within England's industrial heritage.

What is most surprising about Genesis P-Orridge and Alex Fergusson's Allegory And Self album is how unlike the duos previous recordings it truly sounds, where as Genesis's previous incarnation Throbbing Gristle operated on the fringe of a death DIY knife edge and Alex's Alternative TV transmitted a raw reggae rhythms punk vibe, on Allegory And Self saw the group taking on a more rock 'n' roll through to neo-folk sound, something explored by their fellow industrialists Current 93. It's a truly breathtaking album and a lesser known but no less crucial piece of the PTV puzzle.

There is not much we can say that hasn't been said before about Allegory And Self really, it's a legendary album within the esoteric underground that we urge all coak clad industrialists to check immediately.
