Artist + Curator + nO!se aficionado + Producer Russell Haswell follows up his 37 Minute Work Out LP with a DBL drop As Sure As Night Follows Day. In the intervening time since his last side for Diagonal he joined and produced Consumer Electronics' latest LP and been tounge dancin' for E Mego but it's for this release that he has saved his best. Having debuted Hardwax Flashback on a rather chaotic Bleep NTS show a while back ASANFD showcases a wealth of influences from the veteran producer of extreme music and sound design, tracks that bounce between Drexciyan electro on the excellently titled Underwater Electronic Struggle to Mills and Hood UR techno a la Hardwax (Detroit not Berlin) this is Russell's most floor-friendly release to date (if your floor is covered in broken glass) and serves as a timely reminder if ever needed of why he has worked with everyone from Autechre, Hecker, Merzbow and Regis. A completely unique listening experience to blow ya teeth out from this most singular of artists. Best enjoyed with a bottle of Aspall cider.
