Two remixes of tracks from Sote’s 2019 LP Parallel Persia encase a new joint from Sote himself on this generous new EP. Rashad Becker moulds Parallel Persia closer ‘Pseudo Scholastic’ into a lurching, ultra-leftfield electronics jam that is not dissimilar to the warped futurism of Afrikan Sciences. Mark Fell pushes out even further on his side-long, post-post-Detroit take on ‘Modality Transporter’. In between these we get Sote original ‘Artificial Neutrality’, a piece in which he twists the Santour playing of Arash Bolouri and Pouya Damadi’s Tar sounds into a typically torrid digital overload.
