Stretched out across its titular time, rascal producer Russell Haswell returns to the eminent Diagonal five years later with the bombastic 37 Minute Workout Vol. 2. Bombastic is right — from the word go on ‘The Wild Horses Of The Revolution Have Arrived Without A Knight’, percussion is close to literal gunshots, sounding like a jolly barefoot skip through an active minefield. There are also moments of antagonistic anti-ambient textures, the scraped sounds of ‘Starting Something You’re Not Able To Finish’ measuring long enough to eventually become entrancing.
