Suicideyear(aka James Prudhomme) has gone from relative obscurity to hooking up with Young Money and carving out a name for himself with a handful of distinctive mixtapes. One of three getting a re-release on Software Recordings, Dream727 combines the Japan LP and Remembrance EP to give a full overview of Prudhomme’s early output and demonstrating in no uncertain terms his distinctive style: cavernous 808 bass peppered with breathy melodies to create a beguiling juxtaposition of light and dark.
