Legendary Sheffield techno trio The Black Dog have teamed up with the local label Dust Science to raise awareness for UK’s dying bird population: produced for two exhibitions at Sheffield’s Festival Of The Mind, Exhibit 1 & 2 were created using recordings of bird song. With part one released as part of an audiovisual project with Shaun Bloodworth, it emulates the dawn chorus, embedding the beauty of the animals’ natural sounds in worlds of calm arpeggios and ambient field recordings. Part two puts emphasis on the melodic purity of their song, looping sequences of their varied noises.
