After receiving a huge amount of attention for gaining production credits on Kanye West’s Yeezus LP, UK producer Evian Christ returns to Tri Angle with another huge EP of genre-defying material entitled ‘Waterfall’. Opening up with ambience is ‘Salt Carousel’ before descending into beat-driven mayhem and littered with garbled vocal samples. Next ‘Fuck Idol’ is an abrasive mash up of trap-styled beats and harsh noise with ‘Propeller’ following with its bombardment of snare fills. Both hard and soft elements collide on closing title track ‘Waterfall’, balancing precious piano keys against noisy industrial thuds.
