Part 1

Dublin's finest All City brings back ONRA’s postmodern classic of instrumental hip hop on vinyl for the first since its 2007. Stuffed with samples culled entirely from Chinese records scored during a trip to his parents’ native Vietnam, ONRA considers the trio of records that make up CHINOISERIES as a tribute to his first ever trip to Asia. While previously unfamiliar with almost all of the material gathered from those well-hunted discs, the Parisian-based producer pulls some magic from their dusty grooves. Tracks like ‘Chop Your Hands’ and ‘Lesson With The Master’ crackle with surface noise, but also stun with breakneck turns and the kind clever, Eastern-minded sound design you won’t hear on most other beat collections.

Part 2

Onra finally drops some new material that we've all been waiting patiently for since his eastern inspired, 'Chinoiseries'. Like the first album, 'PT 2' is inspired by Chinese and Vietnamese music, discovered whilst digging on an expedition through the region, Frenchman Arnaud Bernard packs together a massive selection of source material into an incredibly epic thirty-two cuts of hip hop instrumentals. Exotic, operatic, and charmed even further by the crackle, hiss and pop of his sourced vinyl, Onra has created a completely intoxicating mix of esoteric delights, much in the same way that Madlib does in his Medicine Show series but with Onra's own seal of approval and excellence.

Part 3

Parisian beat maker, Onra, returns to All City Dublin with the long awaited third instalment of his Chinoiseries. The highly-acclaimed series began in 2007, inspired by the sounds and soul of Vietnam. Pt3 is hip-hop sampling at its purest. It’s a collection of scratchy wax sketches laid out in its rawest form. Sounds of the Far East are layered over laid-back hip-hop and breaks - under-produced tracks which casually breathe and flow. From the gentle organ cracklings of ‘Reminds me of’ to the chopped-up vocals of ‘Pearl Song’, this is a record built on emotion and soaked in nostalgia.
