Five years on from his last solo releases and Herva completely rewrites the formula again on Seez, returning to Planet Mu with a sound that is even more angular and fractured than the leftfield rhythms of his previous album Hyper Flux. Herva forgoes his typical sample-based approach for generative music on homemade hardware, and the result is something chimerical, everchanging, and totally unconcerned with structure or regularity. ‘Xid’ fires all cylinders in a full bodied beginning, a metallic barrage with laser stunning and sizzling, and dazzling solar flares erupt on ‘Anm’.
