Neil Scrivin with an archival release on his own Fonolith imprint here. The tracks that make up new full-length Stars And Rumours Of Stars were all recorded during the nights of Winter 2004, and this setting certainly influenced these dreamlike pieces of retro electronics. There is a shared astral quality between these electro/ambient electro entries and the work of Space Dimension Controller. The John Carpenter-ish throwback vibe here is amplified by Scrivin’s artwork, an image that looks like it could be a still from one of Carpenter’s movies. Stars And Rumours Of Stars is best enjoyed as it was conceived - at night, surrounded by the cosmos.
