The inimitable Charlemagne Palestine is offering up not one but two entries for Moog’s Blue TB7 Series (Jimi Tenor & Tony Allen, Mika Vainio). ‘Ttuunneesszz Duh Rruunneesszz’, the second of these, is shorter than the gargantuan ‘Interrvallissphereee (Tuesday)’ but still runs to over 50 minutes. Like its companion piece, ‘Ttuunneesszz Duh Rruunneesszz’ finds Palestine making full use of the vast array of synthesisers that were at his disposal when he recorded in the Moog Sound Lab. Beginning as a clear, piercing drone, Palestine slowly scrambles the signals as the work progresses. Oscillators are opened, wires are crossed, and we end up someplace entirely different from where we started.
