Lydspor One & Two (Blue TB7 Series) is one of Mika Vainio's last known recordings. Entitled “Lydspor” (Danish for ‘Soundtrack'), for these two vinyl sized side-long pieces Mika worked almost exclusively with the Moog Modular System 55. The resulting pieces sit between the endless drones of Life (...it Eats You Up) and the more techno-leaning works of his Sahko output as Ø.
On completion of his session at the Moog lab, Mika announced "I could work with this machine for the rest of my life….I would need nothing else”. A second session at the Moog lab was planned but tragically Mika died in April 2017, shortly after he had approved the vinyl mastering of Lydspor One & Two.
Lydspor stands as an endless reminder of the sheer power and force that is at the core of Mika Vainio's music.
