Following the success of the first drop in the Whities Blue series, the label is back with a new split 12”. While the first release featured Tessela and Lanark Artefax, SMX and Koehler each take one side here. The label has built a reputation on releasing impeccable, progressive soundsystem techno, and the two entries here are worthy additions to the Whities catalogue. SMX’s ‘Sleep’ is an emotional slow-burner that comes across like The Streets’ ‘Turn The Page’ on a minimal acid flex. On the flip, Koehler’s ‘Thief’ is a rambunctious 127 bpm acid-techno roller with shades of Actress and Special Request.
