This 1981 release, originally only available on cassette, gets a 2xLP reissue via Running Back. Best known for his 1987 Klaus Schulze collaboration Babel, Grosser has had a long and fruitful involvement with electronic music. A builder and fixer of electronic instruments in West Berlin in the 80s, he had spent the preceding years on the other side of the wall. These recordings, made between 1976 and 1980, are early synthesiser explorations that flip the Krautrock style into something simultaneously more dystopian and more beautiful. Vangelis might have been taking note on Venite Visum’s lengthier pieces - to the modern ear, ‘3C 123’ has a strong Blade Runner vibe.
