The composer behind the inimitable Twin Peaks soundtrack sees his score for the classic Lynch film Blue Velvet reissued by London company Fire Records. Every bit as dream-like and eerie as his work for the cult TV show, Badalamenti brings the mystical world Blue Velvet inhabits to life with soft strings and faux-romantic atmospheres. Isabella Rossellini’s vocals on the title track lift us right back into those hazy, smoke-filled evenings that occupy most of the film. Orchestral sketches sit side by side with Roy Orbison and Julee Cruise tracks on an LP that’ll have you revisiting Lynch’s universe in no time.
