Bleep

An album of gorgeous xylophone, piano, and marimba-based compositions from composer and ethnomusicologist Sven Kacirek. To record the album, Kacirek travelled to Okinawa to try to rediscover the traditional music of the southern Japanese islands, with the resulting recordings featuring local musicians and vocals. The album contains extensive liner notes that provide further details about Okinawa’s musical culture and history, as well as notes on the recording sessions and the lyrics of the songs.
