Previously only know for his cassette-based output on his own imprint Varech, Belgian producer Brice Dreessen AKA Lowcommittee delivers his debut vinyl release entitled Race At Neon Club on the impressive Vlek Recordings. The release strikes a balance between blissful ambient statements and more disturbing abstract movement, always with one foot placed firmly in the future. Opening trio ‘230000’, ‘2703’ and ‘1943’ constitute experimental, Sci-Fi indebted constructions with shifting, disorientated rhythms. On ‘Diptych’, the Belgian buries classic piano play under muffled interference before settling into a sluggish groove whilst ‘Chair’ is a glistening ambient piece with bitty, sparkling details.
