How do you celebrate 22 years in the business when you’re an offshoot of Brian Eno’s legendary Opal label? By commissioning three remix EPs by the brightest stars. On this release the source material comes from Laraaji, the Philadelphia musician who bought a zither back in the ‘70s and rewired it into an electronic instrument, never looking back since. ‘Kalimba’ gets a chiming, quasi-house makeover from Ela Orleans; Motion Sickness of Time Travel turn ‘Space’ into Oneohtrix-style static and ‘Cave’ gets twisted by Bee Mask into the kind of dark bass hymn Old Apparatus are known for.
