The latest in the Numero Group’s long-running reissue campaign for ambient figurehead Laraaji reaches all the way back to his humble beginnings. Collecting everything from his 1978 debut LP Celestial Vibration and six previously unheard acetates from the same period, Segue To Infinity provides a comprehensive view of Laraaji’s earliest compositional practice. With the knowledge of where his muse would take him, these freshly unearthed (and recontextualised) recordings provide something like a roadmap to the future heights of new age music’s second phase.
