Black Truffle reissue Oren Ambarchi’s excellent debut record, which sees him riffing over classic rock licks with a brilliant recklessness. On ‘Milk A Cow With A Monkey Wrench’, Ambarchi’s backing band keep a jaunty country blues going while the guitarist lets rip, allowing a gut-wrenching level of distortion to beef up his dextrous finger-work. ‘Park It Where The Sun Don’t Shine’ behaves no better, with a similar structure of gradually mounting levels of gnarly distortion coupled with obsessive and unrelenting backing riffs.
