Experimental legends Keiji Haino, Jim O’Rourke, and Oren Ambarchi unveil yet another scorcher with their 12th collaborative record: With pats on the head, just one too few is evil one too many is good that’s all it is. Documenting their final performance at Tokyo underground venue SuperDeluxe before it closed, the trio explore frissons of mood shifts from forlorn minor keys to frenetic trembles, starting with shuffling snares and spare harmonic plucks on ‘My “Watashi Dake?”...’ and scribbling, groaning digital artefacts on ‘Right Brain, Left Brain...’ set to ritualistic drumming. The latter two of this triple LP stampede into the real ruckus, with electric guitar whipped up into wild frenzies on totally ripping, thrashing improvised rock numbers. Oboe blows steam, guitars are as overdriven as possible, and drums steamroll straight into the inferno.
