Powell steps away his own Diagonal imprint, which has seen many a record of immaculately idiosyncratic dance music from him, for a release on Mute sub-label Liberation Technologies. 'Fizz' is just as brilliant as his other work, the title track a magnetic, sprawl of chugging analogue growl that gets you in the gut. "Wharton Tiers On Drums" is equally entrancing, Powell's distinctive, dusty way with percussion and guttural bass brilliantly on show. A highly individual and highly recommended record.
