Rock Action Records reissue this 2005 release from Mogwai, which features a set of tracks recorded live in various BBC sessions across a seven year period. The tracks included are some of the Scottish post-rock group’s finest, with fan favourites culled from each of the album’s that the band had released up to that point in time. It ably demonstrates their ability to drastically alter their songs for the live arena: ‘Like Herod’, for example, is extended into a mammoth 18-minute version. The album is dedicated to the memory of John Peel, whose voice opens the album with the announcement: “Ladies and gentlemen, Mogwai!”
