Clara! has an intimate knowledge of Spanish and Latin dance music, having explored the often undersung female vocalists of reggaeton in her Reggaetoneras series. With her first record for AD 93, she calls on a range of contemporary producers, including SKY H1, Pearson Sound and Low Jack, to curate a futuristic reggaeton vision of her own. Her voice is wispy and velvety yet cuts right through the room, backed by an entourage of assertive beats on ‘Brillo’ and hypnagogic-leaning synths on ‘Te Llevo’ while ‘Gotas’ folds in pneumatic two step garage influences.
