After their FABRICLIVE 100 mix in 2018, Kode9 and Burial are back on the label with a split single pairing club fervour with minimal dub techno afterglow. Reversed piano and vocals loop through left turns on ‘Infirmary’, with playful palettes of popping rhythms bouncing into each other, and clips of breaks breezing through. ‘Unknown Summer’ makes for one of Burial’s brighter soundscapes, a light and airy partner to Kode9’s beat and sample-smithery, with angular synths, mirage-like vocals, and lowkey, sandy beats wafting in the heat haze.
