We’ve been big fans of the Ghost Box brigade for some time so it’s with much anticipation that we welcome a new offering from Belbury Poly and The Advisory Circle. Their latest collaborative 7-inch comprises the eighth edition of the ‘Study Series’, entitled ‘Inversions’, it bestows a side to each far-sighted artist. Jon Brooks’ The Advisory Circle reveals ‘Wildspot’, a down-tempo, wistfully charming flute piece that gives way to cruising 80’s synth cinematics. Meanwhile, Jim Jupp’s Belbury Poly turns in a warped piece of bright, light and alluring disco by way of mountain folk and 60s film soundtracks. Essential.
