Ghost Box cofounder Jim Jupp switches gears once more on his latest Belbury Poly album, with the inclusion of a full band exercising jazz and funk styles over his conceptual electronic compositions. The Path is atmospheric and open to interpretation, with spoken word drawing maps of British landscapes intersected with urban structures, over groovy, motorised rhythms soundtracking the journey through them. ‘All That I Am’ is sweet and smooth with blossoms of harp, while ‘Last Orders’ closes on a reverent note, its synths and sitar guitar adding to the psychedelic feel.
