Derek Carr has steadily amassed a highly-regarded discography, including drops on Subwax, Craigie Knowes, Sushitech sub-label Pariter and his own label Trident. He references the pioneering sounds of Detroit and Sheffield, bringing those influences into his own deep house and acid, hybrid style. The Colour Of Acid is proudly fun and uplifting dancefloor music. The melodies are playful, the drums are propulsive and the energy is overflowing. The EP opens with an infectious house cut, before segueing into two acid dances, each of which interpret the 303 sound into distinctive colours.
