Babylon Is Iraq previously surfaced in 2010 under the slightly altered title Babylon Iz Iraq. This archival release from the late Bryn Jones saw the producer retooling cuts from New Zealand dub pirates UniTone HiFi’s 1995 debut LP Wickedness Increased. Of course, only traces of UniTone HiFi’s soundystem style remain here, with Jones’ reworkings taking us down a sort of anarcho-industrial noise route. ‘Kaliskinazure’ skulks in a manner similar to The Bug, though it’s companion piece ‘Kaliskinazure Momada’ is rather different - this cut’s mixture of harsh acid bassline and spooky atmospheres could pass for one of EVOL’s mischiefs. Please note that this new edition of Babylon Is Iraq features a different tracklist to the 2010 edition.
