The Cyclist follows releases for the likes of Stones Throw, 100% Silk and All City Dublin with his first LP on Hypercolour (Luke Vibert, Matthew Herbert). The Birmingham-based producer has long been associated with the ‘Tape Throb’ scene - think a darker, dubbier and more hypnagogic take on the Mall Grab lo-fi house sound. Sapa Inca Delirium has clear roots in both the sound and aesthetic of mid-90s titans like Orbital and The Future Sound Of London - try the shadowy ‘Inhale/Exhale’ and luminous slow-burner ‘Skateboarding in the Jungle’. The ghosts of jungle and dub lurk in cuts like ‘Forest Surge’ and the title track.
