Dream pop duo Beach House released their fifth studio album, the acclaimed Depression Cherry, in August 2015. Just two months later they’re surprise-releasing their sixth album, Thank Your Lucky Stars. Written after Depression Cherry but recorded during the same sessions, Thank Your Lucky Stars came together quickly, with the songwriting developing around the record’s lyrics and narrative. It’s perhaps the urgency of its creative process that meant that Beach House wanted to push the record out with as little fanfare as possible.
